Drawing bar models is a powerful tool to help students break down information and visualize math problems. Bar modeling also helps students improve mathematical fluency and number sense.
When is the camp?
The camp consists of 4 lessons over 2 weeks.
Lesson 1: July 27th, 10.00 am – 11.30 am Central (Monday)
Lesson 2: July 31st, 10.00 am – 11.30 am Central (Friday)
Lesson 3: August 3rd, 10.00 am – 11.30 am Central (Monday)
Lesson 4: August 7th, 10.00 am – 11.30 am Central (Friday)

Lessons are recorded so you can view it later if you miss a class!
What can I expect during the camp?
During this camp, we will learn the 7 steps to drawing bar models. We will also go over the different types of models we can use to solve word problems such as the:
- Part-whole bar models
- Comparison bar models
- Before and After bar models
Who can join?
If you are at the Grade 3 to 6 level or would like to learn how to use bar models to solve word problems, come join us! Parents and teachers can join too!
